Keeping You Current

It’s the start of a new year (ok I’m already a month behind) and yes this blog hasn’t seen or heard any action since its wonderous and dare I say elusive start.  So in that six month span of nothingness JDi has gone through many changes.  Some happy changes leads me to the Welcoming of our newest staff members; Jody Keim – Controller; Kevin Smith – National Sales Executive and Chris Jarvis – Senior Software Architect … We Welcome You!

JDi has also or should I say will be on the cutting edge floor of social networking.  So as you ask yourself  ”Do I need a twitter account, am I LinkedIn … do I IM and SMS” (we do!)  The wave of the future people!

So as inept as I may be at times I thought I would take the journey through lifes new social media quest.  I am going to sign up to twitter and everything else out there, I will have millions more friends than Aston Kutcher and maybe even a book tour like Sarah Palin.  :)   But seriously if you have exactly no clue how to do .. we can do … together!

And don’t let us forget the blog…the staff at JDi will also be contributing to the blog with their posts and pages.  I look forward to everyone’s contribution!  I will keep the blog updated, fresh faced and current (you have my word)…

Until my next post … adiós

Welcome, Bienvenido, Willkommen, Bienvenue!

Welcome to the official inauguration of JDiData-blog.com!  Whoopee! Yeah! I’m all fired up!  Where’s the champagne?

After many months of painfully, unyielding, intensely hard work I am so excited about this new endeavor. (OK so it wasn’t that difficult) However think back 20 years ago, do you remember lotus? How about the 10×10 computer screens we were starring at they were either a black or green screen and or green or white font.  How fun was that!  And if we ever want to reminisce about the cell phones all we have to do is carry a brick around and the memories will flow freely.  Although, now that I mentioned it, we could drop the phone off of a 5 story building and the phone would still work.  Astounding!

So to me it’s astonishing that the technology we now have is only a fingertip away. (OK again, maybe 10 fingertips away) Nevertheless, a wealth of information, communication, networking, commentary and discussion is on a 24/7 basis.  No barricades!

Let us not forget that we can use this tool as a brilliant networking and marketing tool.  The old days of standing around at a network social distributing our business cards are few and far between.  With the power of the internet it allows all of us to pass out hundreds of business cards in a matter of minutes.  As Anthony J. D’Angelo once said “In life, it is not what you know or who you know that counts – it is both!”

So with that said let’s give it the old college try!  Talk to me!  We have the ability to forge our companies into Fortune 500’s, solve the world’s problems, down to what flea shampoo you use on your dog. (This can really be important at a time like this due to the fact that my dogs do have fleas.)

INVITING intellectuals, Einstein thinkers, humanitarians and superstars it’s time for the bull session chatter to commence launch!

Restaurant Reviews

Today’s review:  The Ambry/ German Cuisine – Commercial Bvld, West of the Intracoastal Bridge

If you like chi-chi places that serve 2 peas on a toothpick and a wedge of cucumber as the main course, and a whiff of tofu on one spinach leaf as dessert, stay away from The Ambry.  If you complain because your size zero hip hugging jeans have gotten a bit tight,  The Ambry might not be the right place for you either.  If you are a vegan, or a vegetarian – do not approach The Ambry, stop reading right now, best, cancel your summer vacation to Germany since Germans love… and I mean L O V E  their meat.

The restaurant itself is a little dark inside, with a couple of dining rooms, and a number of gaudy “ decorations ” on the wall, like stuffed wildlife, frying pans, baking dishes and a huge variety of bier steins – actually there is a very cool collection of the official Munich Octoberfest beer stein and each year one get’s added.  Each entrée includes the salad bar, which is small BUT… contains german potato salad, yes, the one with vinegar and bacon bits, generally served warm.  Service is very friendly, the wine list plentiful and the menu is… huge and yummy.

What I like about The Ambry is that you can find things on the menu generally not easily found in other restaurants, such as venison, buffalo meat, rainbow trout, rabbit and liver. The schnitzel, which is pan fried veal, comes with a variety of sauces and spaetzle, the traditional german noodle.  Ahh, and the red cabbage!  Anybody who has not had red cabbage has my condolences.  The homemade apple strudel is to die for!  The atmosphere is casual, prices are ok considering the quality of the food, I don’t feel like I have gotten ripped off like in so many other places.  All in all, on the Favorite’s list The Ambry gets an 8 out of 10.

Forget the burgers and french fries for a change, and try some food from the other side of the pond!  Guten Appetit!
